Mark joined Schneider, Male & Strakowski Co., E.A. in 2011.  Mark's experience began in 1989.  During his tenure he has consulted with all-sizes of employers on all aspects of retirement plans.  Mark's expertise covers a wide range of issues affecting qualified and non-qualified defined benefit pension, 401(k) and retiree medical plans, including design, funding, termination, financial reporting and management, communication, and administration.

 

Mark has a Bachelor of Science with majors in Mathematics and Actuarial Science from Purdue University.  Mark is an Enrolled Actuary under ERISA, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a Member of the Society of Pension Actuaries.

 

Mark is married and has three children.  Mark enjoys coaching his kids' softball, basketball and soccer teams.

 

 

Jeremy J. Schira, QPA, QKA - Vice President - Retirement Plan Consultant

Jeremy joined Schneider, Male & Strakowski Co., E.A. in 2011.  Jeremy has worked in the retirement plan industry since 2001 specifically in the area of defined contribution plans.  Jeremy is a credentialed Member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA), holding Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) and Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designations.  His experience includes plan design and consulting, compliance and administration of both small and large filer plans.  Jeremy specializes in cross-tested (age-weighted) plan designs that allow for larger benefits to be contributed to owners based on the plan's demographics.

 

Jeremy is a graduate of Cincinnati State Technical & Community College with a double Associates Degree in Business Management and Financial Management.  Jeremy also attended Wilmington College.

 

Jeremy is an active Board Member of the Brian W. Schira "102" Scholarship Fund (http://www.bws102scholarship.org), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial assistance to local firefighters obtaining their Paramedic certification.  Jeremy also enjoys weight training, playing soccer and coaching his kids' soccer teams.

 

 

Matthew C. Longley, EA, MAAA - Retirement Plan Consultant, Actuary

Matt joined Schneider, Male & Strakowski Co., E.A. in 2015.  Matt has been working with defined benefit plans since 2003.  His career experience spans employers of many sizes and covers a variety of issues pertaining to qualified and non-qualified defined benefit and post-retirement medical plans.  Matt specializes in plan funding under PPA, plan accounting under FASB/ASC, financial reporting, plan administration, forecasting and plan design.

 

Matt has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics - Actuarial Science from Bowling Green State University.  He is an Enrolled Actuary under ERISA and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

 

Matt is married and has one child.  When not working, Matt enjoys walking his dogs, watching sports and playing guitar.



Curtis R. Tudor, QKA - Retirement Plan Consultant

Curtis joined Schneider, Male & Strakowski Co., E.A. in 2015.  Curtis began working with retirement plans in 2006 with a focus on defined contribution plans.  He attained his Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designation with the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA) in 2008.  Curtis' experience includes working closely with employers of all sizes to ensure functionality, IRS/DOL regulatory compliance and proper plan design.


Curtis graduated form Miami University in Oxford, OH in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Education and  minor in Coaching.


Curtis is married and enjoys spending time with his three children as well as coaching their basketball and baseball teams.  He loves running and has participated in various half marathons throughout the tri-state area.  Other hobbies include being a car enthusiast and watching football and baseball.  In addition, Curtis serves as a trustee and board member for his church.



Michael R. Schwing, QKA - Retirement Plan Consultant

After graduating from the University of Cincinnati with an accounting degree in 1988, Mike began working in the retirement plan industry in 1990.  Mike is a credentialed member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA), holding a Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designation.  Mike joined Schneider, Male & Strakowski Co., E.A. in 2016 as a Plan Consultant.  Mike specializes in working with defined contribution plans with a primary focus on non-discrimination testing and allocation designs.  During his career, Mike has worked with a wide variety of employers from large plan filers to single employee plans and is familiar with multiple document designs.  Mike appreciates the opportunity to assist employers create and operate a retirement plan that serves as a true benefit to both the company and its employees within the bounds of the regulatory requirements which govern these plans.


Mike is married with two children.  In his free time he enjoys trying to play golf and spending time with his family and friends.



Maggie Brown - Retirement Plan Consultant/Specialist

Maggie began working with her late husband Andrew Brown in 1978 in his actuarial and consulting business, which joined Chuck Schneider in 1985 to form Schneider & Brown Co., E.A.  Maggie's initial involvement was with the operations (bookkeeping and payroll).  However, due to the continued growth of the business, she added the additional duties of plan administration.  Upon Mr. Brown's death, Maggie became a full-time employee of Schneider & Brown Co., E.A.

 

Maggie believes her experience with the ownership side and payroll duties offers added insight when working with our clients, knowing the challenges they face with the day-to-day operations of their business as well as the administration of their plans.

Theresa joined Schneider, Male & Strakowski Co., E.A. in 2014 and has worked in the retirement plan industry since 1987.  She is a graduate of the University of Dayton School of Business Administration and is a credentialed Member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA), holding Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA), Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) and Tax Exempt Governmental Plan Consultant (TGPC) designations.

Tamara joined Schneider, Male & Strakowski Co., E.A. in 2014.  Tamara has eight years of experience working with retirement plans, focusing on defined benefit plan administration.  She has experience with annual date reviews for large plans and with plan terminations.  Tamara prepares annual plan valuations, government filings and benefit statements in order to give our clients the best value possible.

 

Tamara earned a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Miami University, where she focused on Secondary Math Education.  She continues to tutor high school students in algebra and geometry.

 

Tamara is married with two children.  Tamara spends time volunteering for various organizations, many of which coincide with her children's activities.

Chris joined Schneider, Male & Strakowski Co., E.A. in 2017.  He has worked in the retirement plan industry since 2006, specifically in the area of Daily Valuation, Distribution/Loans and Compliance.  He is a graduate of Mount St. Joseph University and is a member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA).


Chris is married with one child and spends much of his time involved in family activities.  He enjoys watching football, soccer and basketball.

RETIRED - Charles W. Schneider, EA, MAAA, MSPA - Retirement Consultant, Actuary

 

Chuck founded Schneider & Brown Co., E.A. in 1985 with the late Andrew Brown. Chuck is an Enrolled Actuary who represented approximately 200 defined benefit plans.  The average defined benefit plan client is a small, closely held company or professional service corporation seeking tax advantages the plan offers.  Chuck also represents, however, larger defined benefit plans with a variety of concerns and goals and is an expert sought for his skill in designing hybrid contribution (profit sharing/401(k)) plans.

 

With continuous change to Internal Revenue Code impacting retirement plans, often with unexpected results, Chuck considers his involvement in professional organizations a priority.  He has been invited to speak to Congressional Committees and is a frequent Commenter regarding the impact of proposed legislation.

 

Chuck is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati where he obtained his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Mathematics.  He is an Enrolled Actuary and permitted to practice before the Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor.  He is a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries and Member of the Society of Pension Actuaries.

Chuck is married with two adult children and is an active member of his church.

 

 

RETIRED - Gregory R. Male, J.D. - Principal - Retirement Plan Consultant

 

Gregory became associated with Schneider, Male & Strakowski Co., E.A. in 1991 and has more than 37 years experience in all phases of Employee Benefit Plan Administration.  He advises clients about Defined Contribution Plans.

 

Mr. Male began his Retirement Plan administration career in the insurance industry and then served more than a decade as a Bank Trust Officer, with responsibility for the administration and investment of Retirement Plans.  He is a graduate of Xavier University and the Salmon P. Chase College of Law, and is admitted to practice in Ohio.

 

Mr. Male is married and the father of five children.  He has been actively involved in various parish and community activities through the years, and is currently Director of the Maelstrom Society (http://www.maelstromsociety.org/), a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public about the dangers of rail grade crossings.
